Summary
A minimum of 4,000 psi compressive strength at 28 days for long-term durability against freeze-thaw cycles and vehicle loads. Air Entrainment: An air content of 6% 1.5% to provide space for water to expand when it freezes, preventing cracking. Slump: A maximum slump of 4 to 5" allows for proper workability without sacrificing structural integrity. Thickness & Base: Pavement depth 6", placed on a compacted, well-draining aggregate subbase of 4 to 6" to prevent slab settlement. Joint Spacing: Contraction and control joints are to be spaced at intervals of 1.25 to 1.5 times the pavement width in feet (e.g., 10 to 12 feet maximum) to control random cracking. Slope: Requires a standard cross slope of 2% (equivalent to a 1/4" drop per foot of width) to ensure proper water drainage. This applies from the crown of the road down to the gutter. There could be one to six pads done at one time, but not in the same location. The price will include the following: Tear out & haul off the existing concrete. Frame & pour 6" pad with above specs. Replace curbing as necessary. Replace vegetation as necessary. Clean up area. All labor & materials are to be included in bid with an additional price for one inch of gravel as needed. All concrete in the Brookhaven subdivision will require at least one inch of gravel plus curbs replaced as necessary along with 6" of concrete in each section. All vegetation will need to be replaced as necessary.
