Coated Yarn Prototyping , and Testing *Sole Source* RFP

Description: The contractor will support NASA's Artemis Suit Materials (ASM) Project by developing four candidate water-soluble CP-1 polyimide coating formulations, evaluating compatible white pigment technologies, and conducting coating trials on high-performance fibers and fabrics. The scope includes characterization through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) imaging and mechanical tensile testing (break strength and elongation), extrusion coating a single selected production fiber (Kevlar, Vectran, or PBO), and delivering representative coated fiber samples, fabric swatches, production spools, and a final technical report.
