City of Williamsburg Comprehensive Plan Update

The City of Williamsburg is seeking a dynamic, multidisciplinary, award-winning planning consultant to lead the update of the Comprehensive Plan. The City's unique and rich history brings millions worldwide to visit and enjoy its small-town charm and sense of community. Coupled with a tradition of prudent and meticulous financial stewardship, excellent public service, and a vibrant art and cultural scene, many seek permanent residence in the city and the Virginia Historic Triangle region. The City of Williamsburg's local government has a long history of excellence, achieved through an organizational desire to be innovative, energetic, and collaborative. The consultant chosen to lead this project must embody this same spirit, engaging with residents and stakeholders and aligning with the city's goals to preserve its character while also presenting forward-thinking ideas for a diversified economy, housing alternatives, complete streets, and improved infrastructure and facilities, among other key topics. With these priorities in mind, the consultant will deliver a Comprehensive Plan pioneering in its approach to outreach, research, analysis, and implementation recommendations.
