This active SAM.gov Special Notice announces an Industry Day for a potential beneficial-use project at Piney Island, MCAS Cherry Point, NC, rather than soliciting a grant. The proposed project would place approximately 8,000 cubic yards of dredged material across 9.3 acres of degraded brackish marsh, with sediment potentially sourced from the AIWW/Core Creek reaches or Wainwright Slough, and is contemplated as an option in a future Wilmington District AIWW maintenance-dredging contract. The Industry Day is scheduled for 7 October 2026 at 1:00 PM EST via Teams, with RSVP requested by 3:00 PM ET on 2 October 2026.
