Pathway at Daniel J Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake (Phase II)
The Objective is to increase accessible access to the Daniel J. Patterson Campus, located at 135 Taylor Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake Ontario L0S 1J0. The project aims to improve campus accessibility while minimizing its environmental impact. The College’s Daniel J Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake is currently undertaking an accessible pathway construction project to enhance pedestrian connectivity. This project involves the creation of a concrete pathway that will connect the existing pathway to the northern entrance of the campus. The pathway will be constructed using an environmentally friendly low carbon concrete mix called Lafarge EcoPact Max, which achieves up to a 90% carbon reduction compared to standard concrete. In addition to the pathway itself, the project includes the installation of pathway lighting, and grading improvements to enhance drainage around the pathway. The project also includes the construction of concrete footings and foundations for the future vestibule at the northern entrance of the campus. This includes the excavation, concrete, backfill, and site restoration. The College has consulted with the NPCA and no NPCA permit is required. The College will obtain the Building Permit for the Footings and Foundations. Periodic site visits by the consultants will check adherence to the approved construction drawings. The Successful Respondent shall accommodate materials testing by the College’s Geotechnical consultant during construction at the discretion of the Site Inspector. The Geotechnical Investigation and Soils Characterization Report are included as part of the Bid Documents. The Successful Respondent shall review the reports and be familiar with the soil conditions of the site. Please review the Bid Documents (Instruction to Bidders) including Appendices A, B and C.
