Summary
Provide shelter, care, feeding, socialization, training, and medical attention as needed for the animals, including the right to euthanize before the end of the first seventy-two (72) hours any animal that is too ill, injured, or elderly, or socially not rehabitable to humanely save through reasonable veterinary care; provide access to a veterinarian licensed by the state of new mexico authorized by law to provide a full range of medical care services, including surgery, spay and neutering, and euthanasia procedures; provide written assessment(s) recommending euthanize when deemed necessary; assume full ownership and property rights to, and financial responsibility for, each animal that remains in the care of the contractor for more than seventy-two (72) hours, including making all decisions regarding an animal's adoptability, healthcare, veterinary services, ultimate disposition, and potential euthanasia.
