Western Pulp, Paper, and Forest Products Safety & Health Conference

This three-and-a-half-day event is the largest safety and health conference in the Western United States, dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities for the pulp, paper, converting, and forest products industries. It also serves as an excellent workplace safety and health training resource for all industries. The conference theme is 'Partners in Safety -- Steering Toward the Future,' emphasizing the commitment to enhancing safety standards and health practices. Attendees can expect a range of educational sessions, expert speakers, and networking opportunities focusing on topics such as emergency preparedness, mobile equipment safety, confined space safety, lockout/tagout, human and organizational performance, fall protection, safety leadership and communication, safety committee effectiveness, topics for sawmill and logging operations, hand safety, mental health awareness, and topics for maintenance workers. It is a joint effort of the Oregon/Idaho/Virginia Pulp & Paper Workers Council of AWPPW, the Department of Consumer & Business Services Oregon Occupational Safety & Health Division (Oregon OSHA), the Washington Council of AWPPW, the Washington Department of Labor & Industries (DOSH), USW, and the pulp and paper manufacturing and forest products industries.
