About this conference
Western Kansas cities face many of the same challenges, but local leaders do not always have enough opportunities to compare experiences, learn from one another, and identify ways to work together. The League of Kansas Municipalities and the Kansas Mayors Association invite western Kansas leaders to join us in Colby for a working summit focused on the priorities and opportunities facing our communities. While our focus is on cities, please consider inviting county and other community leaders to join the conversation. With the 2027 legislative session approaching, we will discuss issues affecting Kansas cities, identify concerns and opportunities that are especially important to western Kansas, and explore practical ways communities can collaborate. Just as importantly, we want to hear directly from local officials about how the League and the Kansas Mayors Association can better support and engage cities throughout the region.
