About this conference

The U.S. Indigenous Data Sovereignty Network invites Tribal and Indigenous leaders, Indigenous community programs, Indigenous data-focused scholars, policy experts, and other data actors and practitioners to the 2026 Summit, "Coming Home: Indigenous Data Governance By Us For Us". This summit acknowledges Indigenous Peoples’ inherent rights to access, use, and steward data critical for effective governance, and to govern those data according to their own values, principles, and practices. The gathering aims to create a collective force of action, connect Indigenous community data efforts with each other and the international Indigenous Data Sovereignty movement, and develop priorities for Indigenous data governance in the U.S. Key goals include establishing an Indigenous data governance strategy in the U.S., creating an Indigenous data standard via nation-to-nation partnerships between Indigenous Peoples and the federal government, and enhancing Indigenous Peoples' laws, policies, and systems for Indigenous data sovereignty led by their own priorities, visions, and strengths for shared data futures.

Sponsorship options

Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels to support the Summit. These include Saguaro ($50,000 - Lead sponsor), Organ Pipe ($30,000 - Important funding for critical events), Cholla ($15,000 - Funding for sustenance and technology), Prickly Pear ($10,000 - Funding for operations), Button ($5,000 - Funding for conference materials), Traveler's Friend ($3,000 - Funding for travel scholarships), and Fishhook (Various - Flexible support).
