This orientation is designed for newly elected city officials, including mayors, council members, and aldermen, to enhance their understanding of city government and leadership capabilities. The program covers essential topics such as leadership principles, open government protocols, parliamentary procedures, financial oversight responsibilities, ethical governance, city regulation fundamentals, effective media interaction, municipal advocacy, revenue sources, economic development strategies, and mandatory training for the Texas Public Information Act and Texas Open Meetings Act.
