The Future of Virtual Exchange: Bridging Global Communities from Multidisciplinary Approaches

A one-day symposium hosted by the Atlanta Global Studies Center (AGSC) in coordination with the Office of International Initiatives (OII) at Georgia State University, and funded by the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA). This forum aims to promote cross-cultural understanding and mutual understanding globally through virtual exchange. It will feature a humanities-centered multidisciplinary approach to discuss the role of Virtual Exchange in connecting cultures across various educational contexts. The event seeks to foster common identities, shared esteem, connection, and belonging among students, faculty, researchers, and practitioners. Key topics include strategies for institutionalizing and sustaining Virtual Exchange, visual storytelling, children's rights, and multilingualism. Attendees, including educators, researchers, and institutional leaders, will explore innovative VE/COIL models and learn how to sustain and scale their impact.
