Summer Institute

This three-day, two-night event is geared toward admissions professionals with up to three years of experience in admissions counseling. The Summer Institute includes an introduction to Admissions and Enrollment Management, sessions on relevant topics for newer admission professionals, and networking opportunities. The format consists of interactive workshops, panel discussions, and small group reflection time. Learning outcomes include gaining skills and knowledge for the next recruitment cycle, building relationships with colleagues, and understanding future professional development needs. It includes on-campus lodging in a single room with a shared bathroom, six meals, and access to a dedicated Slack channel for the cohort. Sample themes cover basics of admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, student demographics and territory management, travel tips, admission ethics, best practices with high school/college counselors, admissions marketing, and career growth strategies.
