About this conference
STEPZ is MORPC's professional development event designed to connect planning theory with real-world decision-making. This year's theme tackles two of the most talked-about planning issues shaping communities in the Central Ohio region: data centers and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). The event brings together planning staff, public officials, and subject-matter experts for practical discussion grounded in real-world experience, exploring how these uses shape site planning, policy decisions, and long-term community resilience. Sessions highlight applied case studies and professional perspectives that support stronger site planning, sound legal and ethical decisions, and sustainability, featuring a hands-on UrbanPlan exercise in partnership with ULI.
