The Professionalizing Law Enforcement-Community Engagement Training (PLECET) National Conference is a specialized training, networking, and professional development summit designed for sworn and civilian personnel assigned to community engagement roles within law enforcement agencies nationwide. This conference is truly one of a kind, providing essential training to strengthen trust, foster cooperation, and build relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Attendees will gain tools, strategies, and best practices needed to enhance community engagement efforts in their jurisdictions. The five-day conference includes seven conference-wide sessions with prominent leaders, eight custom training tracks on law enforcement-community engagement best practices, a citywide service project, and high-impact networking opportunities. It addresses the critical need for expanded training for public safety personnel in community engagement roles to reduce crime, build trust, and foster successful community collaboration. Participants will learn about best and promising community outreach practices and resources, engage in formal and informal networking, and complete eight specialized training courses with an instructionally designed curriculum. The event will also feature a televised national town hall meeting focusing on effectively utilizing community engagement to reduce crime.
