About this conference
The Principal for a Day (PFAD) project is an immersive campus experience that pairs community and business leaders with school principals in the Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD). The program aims to increase awareness among individuals in the private sector regarding the strengths and challenges within Dallas ISD schools, demonstrate the private sector's commitment to ensuring quality public education, and foster ongoing partnerships between individuals/businesses and Dallas ISD. Participants step into the role of a guest principal for a day, spending time with the principal, faculty, and students to explore innovations, challenges, and collaboration opportunities. Activities may include teaching a class, meeting with the student council, attending student performances, reading to students, or addressing a class assembly. The day concludes with a debrief session where guest principals convene with the superintendent and other business leaders to discuss their experiences and potential future involvement.
