Our Cultural Landscape Conference

This annual event provides educators and administrators with a deep understanding of culturally responsive education and equips them to transform their classrooms, pedagogy, and curriculum to fully support all students' success—especially those who have been historically underserved, disenfranchised, and marginalized by colonized systems. The theme for 2026 is 'Learning from Our Ancestors, Shaping Our Future.' The conference aims to foster an animated conversation among diverse participants about the integration of Indigenous culture, values, and knowledge into public policy, institutions, and programs serving Alaska Natives to sustain the cultural vitality of current and future generations. It focuses on culturally responsive education, Indigenous perspectives, place-based education, critical theory, and possibilities for indigenizing curriculum and building safe social environments for all learners.
