Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA)

Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) is a division of the American Library Association that focuses on supporting teen services in libraries through networking, advocacy, professional development, research, and awards (e.g., Michael L. Printz Award, Alex Awards). YALSA organizes programming, conferences and events for library professionals working with teens and maintains governance, staff contact, and member resources. Recent reporting indicates YALSA operates under ALA and has been involved in reunification discussions with ALSC (Association for Library Service to Children), but it remains the recognized ALA division for young adult library services and a relevant conference organizer for topics such as library services, library directors, library technology, academic/public libraries, and ALA summits.
