State Higher Education Executive Officers Association

SHEEO (the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association) is the membership association for chief executives of statewide governing, policy, and coordinating boards of postsecondary education and their staff. The organization advances public policies and academic practices that enable students to attain education beyond high school and succeed in the 21st-century economy. Recent activities include convening state policy academies (e.g., Basic Needs Data Academy), leading multi-state initiatives (including a national initiative to expand postsecondary education for justice-impacted students following reinstatement of Pell Grant eligibility), producing state higher-education finance research (SHEF), and recognizing state leadership through its Excellence Awards.
