Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies

The Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies (SWCHRS) is a department within University Outreach/College of Continuing Education at The University of Oklahoma that builds learning communities to address human conflict, promote cross-cultural communication, and support civic engagement and leadership development. For over 60 years SWCHRS has organized NCORE and related professional development programs serving educators, professionals, and advocates in higher education and public education; most recently it hosted NCORE Connections 2024 (Nov 6–8, 2024), which highlighted Native American and Indigenous experiences and produced focused recommendations to advance access and opportunity.
