2027 Regional Conference and General Assembly

The 2027 Regional Conference and General Assembly will serve as a forum for Southern California leaders and practitioners to explore SCAG programs, tools, and initiatives. Attendees will have direct access to SCAG's regional planning experts to exchange information on funding sources, data, and best practices that support addressing the region's most pressing challenges. Key topics are anticipated to include SCAG Local Assistance Resources and Funding Opportunities, Housing Accomplishments and Advocacy, Sustainability and Resilience Efforts, mobility aspects related to the LA28 Games, Connect SoCal 2050 regional planning efforts, and SCAG Contracts and Procurement. The General Assembly annually brings together official representatives of SCAG's membership to identify and address policy issues and help set the agency's course for the coming year.

About

About Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG)

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is the regional Council of Governments (COG) and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for six Southern California counties (Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura). Founded in 1965 and headquartered in downtown Los Angeles, SCAG organizes regional conferences, a General Assembly, workshops (e.g., Toolbox Tuesday), and other events that convene elected officials, city/county staff, and municipal leaders. SCAG runs an annual Regional Conference & General Assembly (May 7-8, 2026) and offers sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities, and membership engagement aimed at municipal governments and local officials—making it a relevant organizer for local government conferences (mayors, city managers, county administrators, councils of governments) in the Southern California region.
