Professional Developers of Iowa

Professional Developers of Iowa (PDI) is a private non-profit voluntary association of nearly 300 economic development professionals in Iowa. It organizes multiple events and conferences focused on municipal and regional economic development, including an annual Fall Conference (three-day), Spring Conference (one-day training), Legislative Roundtables, Partners, the Profession and the Process (PPP) workshop, and other professional development events. PDI hosts events covering topics such as business retention & expansion, downtown/community redevelopment, training aligned with IEDC-accredited courses (Heartland Economic Development Course), and offers RFPs for host cities to bid to host the Fall Conference, demonstrating its function as a city/economic development conference organizer.
