Police Jury Association of Louisiana

This event is a comprehensive, practice-focused workshop examining critical legal issues directly affecting parish governing bodies, sponsored by the Police Jury Association of Louisiana and the Louisiana District Attorneys Association. Participants can expect 13 hours of CLE for parish attorneys and education for officials and employees of parish governing bodies. The program will cover economic development tools (PILOT agreements, Industrial Tax Exemption Program), intergovernmental agreements, disposal of parish property, Louisiana Land Banking Authority, Open Meetings Law compliance, First Amendment challenges, managing disruptive conduct by auditors and sovereign citizens, a legislative update, jurisprudence review, and an interactive session for current legal challenges. Enhancements include adjustments to the lunch format, hosting the program in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and a Tuesday evening icebreaker at the Church Street Inn.
