The New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) is New Mexico’s state-level emergency management agency responsible for preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, training and public information. DHSEM’s official site lists press releases, training expos, community events, disaster management activities and announcements. While the statewide New Mexico Emergency Management Conference is organized by the New Mexico Association of Emergency Management Professionals (NMAEMP), DHSEM regularly hosts or co-hosts trainings, statewide exercises, expos and outreach events relevant to state emergency preparedness, COOP/continuity, disaster preparedness, and business continuity — making DHSEM highly relevant as a state agency organizer/host of preparedness events.
