National Planning Conference

The National Planning Conference (NPC) is the American Planning Association’s annual flagship conference for planners, local government officials, planning commissioners, advocates and planning students. It is produced by the American Planning Association (APA), runs annually (e.g., NPC26: April 25–28, 2026 in Detroit), includes hundreds of sessions and exhibitor/vendor opportunities, and focuses on urban planning, zoning, land use, and community development—attracting city planners and community development officials, primarily from the United States but also internationally.
