National Emergency Management Association

The National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) association established to provide national leadership and expertise in comprehensive emergency management and to improve the nation’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. Its membership is primarily state emergency management directors from all 50 states, eight U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia; NEMA administers the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), produces research and policy publications, and holds two national conferences annually.
