National Council of State Housing Agencies

The National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that advances, through advocacy and education, the efforts of state Housing Finance Agencies (HFAs) to provide affordable housing. Its members include state HFAs (including the HFAs of the District of Columbia, New York City, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands), agencies that allocate the Low Income Housing Tax Credit in states without an HFA, and more than 350 affiliate members. Recently NCSHA has publicly endorsed federal housing legislation (e.g., the "Housing for the 21st Century Act"), announced its 2026 Board of Directors, and recognized state HFAs for affordable housing innovation.
