Higher Learning Commission

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is a regional institutional accreditor that assures quality and promotes continuous improvement in higher education through streamlined accreditation processes and learning opportunities. Its members include public universities, community colleges, and private institutions across rural, urban, and online campuses. Recently, HLC launched an endorsement process (via its Credential Lab) to evaluate short-term credential providers and has adopted policy changes related to teach-outs, pathways, and risk indicators.
