About

About Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness

Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) is Louisiana’s state‑level emergency management agency that coordinates homeland security and emergency management programs, training, and stakeholder outreach. GOHSEP administers and coordinates training and events for first responders, emergency managers, elected officials and other stakeholders (including FEMA/NDPC courses and statewide workshops), and co‑hosts the Louisiana Emergency Management Conference (LEMC) with the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association. It organizes/state‑sponsors professional conferences, workshops, and exercises oriented to public safety, emergency management and first responders, though its primary focus is emergency management rather than exclusively law‑enforcement events.
