First Alaskans Institute

First Alaskans Institute (FAI) is a statewide Alaska Native nonprofit that organizes the annual Statewide Elders & Youth Conference (now in its 42nd year). The conference centers Indigenous cultural education, Alaska Native languages, intergenerational knowledge transfer, and community leadership development. FAI also selects a Language of the Year each conference and hosts additional convenings and trainings related to Indigenous leadership, policy, and cultural preservation.
