Federal Railroad Administration

The National Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Safety Conference provides a collaborative forum for exchanging knowledge, sharing best practices, and promoting engineering design standards aimed at enhancing railroad grade crossing safety. Participants include representatives from state transportation agencies, federal organizations, passenger rail & freight railroads, and accredited transportation safety associations. This workshop fosters interactive discussions to improve coordination and communication efforts between government agencies and the railroads. It also offers a valuable opportunity to share real-life experiences, addresses challenges, highlights lessons learned, and explores human-factor considerations related to all at-grade railway crossings.
