The 2026 CTER Legal Update and Indian Preference Conference comes at a time when the federal government is attempting to reshape itself and precedence seems to have very little value---and more and more things are being worked out in the courts as challenges to executive power are becoming more common. This is an important time to get advice from experts in TERO and Indian Preference Law and from national and Tribal leaders. We need to know what threats are out there and how to challenge them when they come. We are back at The Orleans again this year and hope you will make plans to join us as we learn from experts and each other.

About Council for Tribal Employment Rights (CTER)
The Council for Tribal Employment Rights (CTER) is a national nonprofit organization (TERO-focused) that organizes the annual National TERO Conference and other events focused on tribal employment rights, Indian preference, and legal/update topics relevant to tribal employment and tribal programs. Their activities include hosting conferences that cover tribal employment, tribal programs, compliance, and related topics; while not strictly a federal grants conference organizer, CTER events overlap with tribal grants management, federal programs compliance and BIA-funded program administration through training and legal updates relevant for tribal employment and program administrators.
