The City of Lakewood's annual Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Expo will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Civic Center parking lot at Del Amo and Clark. This free event is a chance for families and community members of all ages to meet first responders who serve their community and learn about the latest in emergency preparedness. Kids will also enjoy the family fun zone with an array of activities. The event includes: Exciting demonstrations by the L.A. County Sheriff's Department and Fire Department, including search-and-rescue dogs. An up-close look at Sheriff's Department and Fire Department vehicles, including fire trucks and sheriff's patrol cars, and a chance to meet the pilot of and see Lakewood's Sky Knight helicopter.
