American Society of Criminology (ASC)

The American Society of Criminology (ASC) is an international professional association that organizes an annual meeting and numerous division-sponsored panels, workshops, and roundtables that frequently include sessions directly relevant to criminal investigations, homicide and major crime investigation, investigative techniques, case management, and policing practice. ASC’s Annual Meeting and its Division of Policing and other divisions convene academics and practitioners (including detectives and homicide investigators) for practitioner-focused panels, trainings, and networking. Thus ASC functions as a conference organizer relevant to the user’s key terms, although it is primarily an academic/professional society rather than a dedicated law-enforcement-only event organizer.
