About this conference
The NYHC Affordable Housing Policy Forum will convene affordable housing operators and stakeholders to discuss critical policy reforms and actions needed at the City and State levels. Key topics include proposals to stabilize affordable housing tenants and buildings, addressing NYC water & sewer rates, a proposal for a Special Court Part for Affordable Housing with an eviction diversion program, processing delays for vacant units, and allowing affordable housing vacancies to rent at current AMI. The forum will also evaluate policies and programs to reduce rising insurance rates, including affordable housing captives, shared and layered pooled pricing, mitigation discounts, and the impact of high insurance costs on new construction and building operations. The event will feature insights from Mayor Mamdani’s Housing Leadership Team, including the Deputy Mayor for Housing & Planning, HPD Commissioner, NYCHA CEO, HDC President, and the Director of the Mayor’s Office To Protect Tenants.
