New Superintendents Institute- 2026

This one-day event is designed for administrators embarking on their first year in the superintendency. Participants will engage in activities aimed at cultivating a professional learning network, becoming familiar with the Iowa Department of Education's priorities, and establishing a successful relationship with their school board. The institute also focuses on preparing for an effective superintendent evaluation process, connecting with Area Education Agency (AEA) services and support, and gaining insights from experienced superintendents. Attendees will reflect on strategies for achieving a leadership-life balance and review typical legal issues encountered at the beginning of the school year.
