About this conference
The Minnesota Indian Education Association Annual Conference brings together educators, community leaders, and advocates committed to supporting American Indian students and strengthening Indigenous education across Minnesota. The 2026 conference will feature Janis A. Fairbanks, author of "Sugar Bush Babies: Stories of My Ojibwe Grandmother," which has been selected as the official conference book giveaway, with 1,100 copies to be distributed to attendees. The book reflects the organization's mission and values by emphasizing the importance of learning lessons from elders and authentic Indigenous voices. Agenda with presenter information will be posted in the coming weeks.
