About this conference
A full-day conference designed for current and aspiring MAASE Paraeducator Trainers, educators, and administrators. It focuses on collaboration, learning, and trainer development to build Michigan's statewide paraeducator training initiative. Attendees will learn to lead trainings in selected topic areas including Early Childhood, Transportation, Transition-Aged Students, and Paraeducator Bootcamp Level 1 and Level 2. The program aims to equip paraeducators with essential skills in academics, behavior support, and special education fundamentals to strengthen classroom instruction, support student success, and foster effective collaboration with teachers in inclusive settings across Michigan's PK-12 classrooms. This initiative is part of the MAASE Paraeducator Professional Learning Series, grant-funded by the State of Michigan and built upon the Council for Exceptional Children's (CEC) Core Competencies for Special Education Paraeducators and High Leverage Practices.
