About this conference
The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) Legislative Summit is an annual four-day event that convenes presidents, students, faculty, and staff from the 34 accredited Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). The summit provides a platform for engaging in meaningful dialogue on critical issues impacting Tribal higher education, facilitating meetings with members of Congress to advocate for TCU institutions, and interacting with federal agencies and partners to understand current U.S. federal agency and administration policies. Key focus areas include Farm Bill reauthorization priorities, strengthening 1994 Land-Grant investments, and federal policy implementation affecting TCUs. Participants will also receive updates on topics like broadband and infrastructure studies. Students are encouraged to attend to explore internships, fellowships, and career opportunities, and to share their educational experiences with congressional leaders.
