About this conference
The Great Connections 2026 Conference, co-hosted by the Great Lakes and Great Rivers Chapters of the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) along with The City of Dubuque and the Dubuque County Watershed, focuses on the latest techniques and technologies in stormwater, erosion control, and watershed management. It aims to prepare attendees for the spring construction season and offers certification review courses. Topics include MS4, active and post-construction stormwater management, construction general permit (CGP) compliance, erosion & sediment control, agriculture & watersheds, surface water quality, stormwater management regulations, and locally-led watershed improvement efforts. The event fosters networking among professionals from both public and private sectors across a 10-state region and beyond, providing opportunities to earn up to 9 PDHs. The keynote speaker is Curt Meine, a conservation biologist, environmental historian, and writer.
