About this conference
The Fall Workshop 2026, themed "An Enduring Mission --- Standards for a Strong Foundation," is designed for institutions at every stage of the accreditation life cycle. It will be held in San Diego, CA, a fitting backdrop as the city's first mission, built in 1769, symbolizes building and rebuilding a strong foundation over centuries. The conference emphasizes practical next steps for progress in accreditation, focusing on how standards help institutions build their next level from their current one. The agenda is informed by the experience institutions have gained across three full cycles of initial and renewal accreditation under standards effective since January 2025, and by feedback from past attendees. The workshop will feature plenary sessions with guest experts and seasoned DEAC evaluators providing context and practical insights into demonstrating compliance with DEAC Standards. It will also include targeted tracks for applicant institutions and already-accredited institutions, Building Blocks Sessions for specific topics, and sessions on DEAC Processes & Procedures. Opportunities for networking and connection include a New-to-DEAC Mentoring Program for first-time attendees and Affinity Groups for informal conversations among institutions with shared interests, such as faith-based missions, Spanish-speaking operations, or emerging technologies.
