Fall Pre-K and Kindergarten Conference. Purposeful Play: Building Strong Literacy Skills Through Play-Based Learning

Join us for the day and explore how play-based learning can intentionally support and strengthen early literacy development while honoring how young children learn best, through PLAY. The morning will focus on phonological awareness and the afternoon will focus on early writing! Teachers will discover easy-to-implement, research-aligned play experiences that build foundational literacy skills, including letter recognition, phonemic and phonological awareness, oral language development, vocabulary, and early writing. Together, we will explore how intentional teacher planning, purposeful materials, and playful learning environments can increase student engagement, deepen literacy skill acquisition, and build confident early readers and writers. Leave with a pocketful of ready-to-use ideas, classroom examples, and inspiration to elevate your literacy instruction through meaningful play that is developmentally appropriate, highly engaging, and immediately usable. This day will be packed with hands-on activities, with teachers playing and testing out various strategies and activities! This day is specifically designed for preschool, prek, TK, and kindergarten teachers.
