This 20-hour conference is designed for experienced Justices of the Peace in Texas, fulfilling annual judicial education requirements. The program covers 20 hours of credit, including 10 civil hours, and addresses topics such as ethics, eviction legislative updates, death investigations, landlord/tenant issues, debt claims, criminal case resolution, family violence, civil trial skills, magistration, truancy, animal law, mental health resources, commercial vehicle scenarios, juvenile diversion, and the use of technology in courts. It also meets the requirements for a magistration refresher course (if not taken in FY24) and a juvenile diversion course. Attendees can expect a comprehensive curriculum to enhance their judicial knowledge and skills.
