Directors University Core is the tenth annual professional development program designed for first-time public library directors and those new to Illinois. Held over four days, it provides foundational training in public library directorship, covering topics such as library policies, human resources, legal aspects, building maintenance, basic budgeting and finance, board relationships, state grant programs, customer service, and resource sharing. The program includes a comprehensive multi-day in-person institute and five robust virtual sessions, aiming to equip directors with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities to better serve their constituents.
