About this conference
The Colorado Regional Mine Rescue Contest is an indoor competition featuring mine rescue, first aid, bench, technician team, and pre-shift challenges. This event is designed to sharpen the skills and test the knowledge of mine rescue teams, who are mandated to participate for certification maintenance. Participants will engage in solving hypothetical problems within simulated mine environments, complete with potential hazards such as smoke, structural collapse, flooding, and explosive gases. The contest emphasizes safety compliance, teamwork, accuracy, and decision-making, with performances evaluated by judges from MSHA and State representatives. It is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Mine Rescue Council, Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety, and the MSHA Rocky Mountain District.
