Celebrating Salish Conference

The annual Celebrating Salish Conference brings together speakers and learners of all Interior Salish languages in the Inland Northwest, including Kalispel, Spokane, Colville-Okanagan, Coeur d’Alene, Wenatchee-Columbian, and Montana Salish. The conference aims to promote new speakers of native languages, foster collaboration among neighboring tribal communities, and build ongoing relationships. It is recognized as the largest gathering of native language speakers in the Northwest, providing a platform for communities to share successes and re-energize language revitalization efforts. The event includes presentations, workshops, a youth track leadership workshop, a karaoke contest, a Salish-only talent show, and an award ceremony.
