Birding the Border 2026 is an event designed for birders and nature enthusiasts of all levels, from serious birders to casual birdwatchers. Organized by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, it focuses on discovery, friendship, conservation, and lifelong learning within the birding community. Participants explore private ranches, river corridors, and canyons in the Val Verde County borderlands, where the Hill Country, Edwards Plateau, and South Texas Brush Country converge. The event offers expert-guided field trips, including specialized photography and beginner tracks, as well as educational seminars. The program aims to connect people to the land through birding, educate landowners on bird management strategies to enhance habitats, and promote natural resource conservation.
