About this conference

Join AURP in Manassas, VA in April for a dynamic, hands-on exploration of George Mason University. This high-impact program brings together thought leaders, economic developers, research park managers, and university and industry partners to witness first-hand the infrastructure, culture, and community that support groundbreaking research and commercialization in Manassas. Whether you’re launching a new park, growing your research assets, or looking for collaborative models to drive regional innovation, this site visit delivers valuable takeaways. Insights into Research Parks (I2RP) is designed for those interested in viewing these distinctive parks, learning their unique story of ongoing development and programs in addition to challenges and opportunities. Whether you are new to research parks or representing your own established research park and community, each I2RP gathering will provide an exclusive learning environment and knowledge exchange. Each 1 ½ day program will be unique to their region, involving their team, university and community leaders to learn history, best practices and overall ecosystem. Not to replace the Communities of Innovation 101 (RP101) programming held at the annual International Conference, I2RP should be considered a companion program, showcasing each one-of-a-kind university research park. Sample Topics Include: AURP & Communities of Innovation, Working with Your University, Research Park Governance, Master Planning a Park, Impact of Government Relations, Marketing & Positioning Your Park, Focus on Innovation Districts, Financing Your Park, Planning for Economic Impact & Measuring the Results, Incubators, Business Acceleration within the Park.
