About this conference
The American Council for Southern Asian Art (ACSAA) Symposium XXII is a four-day conference where members share current research on topics of South and Southeast Asian Art. These biennial symposia provide opportunities to meet colleagues, reconnect with mentors and graduate school cohorts, and participate in the ACSAA community. The 2026 symposium will be hosted by the Freer Research Center at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, D.C., and includes a keynote panel and reception, two full days of in-person talks and discussions, and curator-led gallery tours. Attendees are invited to present papers and explore museums and other scholarly resources.
