Absorb, Adapt, Thrive: Nature-Based Infrastructure for Coastal Resilience

A series of public events hosted by the University of Miami's Climate Resilience Institute (CRI) and Battery Park City Authority during Climate Week NYC at Wagner Park Pavilion. The conference focuses on nature-based infrastructure for coastal resilience and climate adaptation. It includes interactive conversations among academic researchers and adaptation/design professionals, exploring successful adaptation strategies and the transition from knowledge to implementation. Sessions will delve into how public landscapes function as climate infrastructure, supporting community resilience across New York City, Houston, and Miami. The event also addresses scaling nature-based solutions from pilot projects to resilient regions, with breakout sessions covering post-disaster recovery, finance, planning and design, and governance. The day concludes with a happy hour and site tours of Battery Park City's resilience projects and the Sarah Cameron Sunde exhibit.
