ABLE Institute (ACTFL Black Language Educators)

The ABLE Institute (ACTFL Black Language Educators) is a four-day immersive program designed for aspiring language teachers, providing comprehensive support, mentorship, and leadership training to foster success in their teaching careers. Practicing language educators are also encouraged to attend. The program focuses on connecting attendees with a community of peers and mentors who share a passion for language and equity, building essential skills in lesson planning, inclusive teaching practices, and pathways to certification. It also explores career opportunities in education through guest speakers and school district presentations, and aims to amplify participants' voices and leadership in shaping the future of language education. The institute features distinct strands for both Student/Pre-Service Educators and Professional Language Education Professionals.
